WHY A GALLON?
WHAT WILL DRINKING A GALLON A DAY DO FOR ME?
Think of your skin cells as little sponges. If those sponges dry out they will look lumpy, splotchy, dry and unhealthy. If the sponges are soaked full of water they will be plump, lush and full. This is also how our skin works. When our skin cells don't have enough water dark circles and bags form under the eyes, our skin tone becomes uneven, we get breakouts, dryness, and our skin will age quicker if left dehydrated. Hydrated skin glows and radiates health. Your skin will be one of the most noticeable changes when you drink a gallon a day. Did you know that most of the time when we crave food we are really just thirsty? It's true. We are so chronically dehydrated that our bodies send out cravings. A craving for water can be misinterpreted as a food craving. When we are super hydrated we aren't hungry as frequently because we are satisfied with what we have. Drinking water will make you full which can help eliminate bad snacking habits. Water also boosts your metabolism so you are burning fat more efficiently by doing something as simple as lifting the bottle to your mouth. Another added bonus of drinking water is the cleansing effect it has on your body. It flushes the system and removes any by-products of fat so nothing lingers around.
Your brain is mostly water. As you can guess, when you don't have enough water to go around, all the important things that your brain does to power you and your body aren't working at their highest potential. Add a gallon a day and notice how mentally clear, focused and concentrated you feel.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Print out the WWC goal sheet (found at the bottom of the page) and put it somewhere you will see it all the time (i.e. bathroom mirror, in your car on your phone).
Buy a gallon jug of water or measure out how many of your water bottles you need to drink each day to reach a full gallon.
Drink up and check in! At the end of each day, check in on Facebook and Instagram #TFFWWC when you complete your gallon.
TIP: Space it out. It's not good to drink a gallon of water all at once. Try to drink most of your water in the morning, some in the afternoon and a small amount in the evening. If you drink too much at night you will interrupt your sleep pattern.
Use today as a trial run to see when you need to drink water to get the most out of the challenge. Even if you don't drink the full gallon your first day just jump back on the horse tomorrow and try it again with your new knowledge :)
